Wasatch House, a certified Clubhouse program, offers a strengths-based approach where treatment, vocational training, and support are provided to individuals to help them to regain social skills, vocational skills, and psychiatric stability.
Clubhouse members work closely with staff in taking responsibility for various on-site programs, including: food services, clerical, financial, thrift store, building and grounds, and computer/data entry to improve both social and employment skills.
Clubhouse communities are built upon the idea that every member can sufficiently recover from the effects of mental illness to lead a personally satisfying life, be respected as coworkers/ neighbors/ friends. and members of the community.
Wasatch House Offers:
Wasatch House operates an extensive Transitional Employment program (TE) for members who would like to return to work. The TE program is designed to help members gain or regain the skills and confidence necessary to obtain and maintain employment.
Wasatch House provides on-site and off-site support for the members as they return to work through the Transitional Employment program, Supportive Employment, or to members seeking independent employment. Click to find out more about having a Transitional Employment position at your workplace!
Wasatch House offers programs and services to help members develop employment skills and gain confidence in their abilities. Members assist in the daily duties of running the Clubhouse and learn job skills to help them prepare for successful employment.
Job training may include the following:
- Data Entry
- Food Preparation
- Mail Room
- Customer Service
- Grounds keeping
- Must be a current WMH client
- Have Medicaid (some exceptions with prior approval)
- Referred by their WMH therapist
- Have a serious and persistent mental illness
