NOTICE OF FILING OF APPLICATION UNDER THE U.S. DEPARTMENT
OF LABOR’S PERMANENT LABOR CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

TO THE EMPLOYEES OF WASATCH BEHAVIORAL SPECIAL SERVICE DISTRICT AND OTHER INTERESTED INDIVIDUALS

An application concerning the employment of one or more alien workers for the following permanent position will be filed with the Department of Labor. This Notice of Filing will be posted for 10 consecutive business days, ending between 30 and 180 days before filing the permanent labor certification application.

POSITION TITLE: Clinical Mental Health Therapist

Duties:
Wasatch Behavioral Health provides mental health services to incarcerated and recently released inmates at the Utah County Jail (located in Spanish Fork, Utah) and people experiencing homelessness at the Food and Care Coalition (located in Provo, Utah).
Under the direction of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), the applicant provides direct and indirect crisis interventions and develops and supervises client treatment programs at the Utah County Jail and the Food and Care Coalition. These clients include but are not limited to, individuals experiencing serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI), individuals experiencing homelessness, incarcerated individuals at the Utah County Jail, and recently released incarcerated individuals seeking outpatient services. Works with clientele that are experiencing acute crises while homeless, unemployed, and/or incarcerated. Determines diagnoses for mental health, substance use, and dependency disorders. Performs individual and family mental health therapy as well as group outpatient psychotherapy for a variety of mental health disorders, personal problems, domestic violence, substance use disorders, and personality disorders. Maintains awareness of client behaviors and assesses symptoms of abuse, suicide, and other signs of crisis. Monitors reactions to medications in consultation with medical providers as needed to avoid adverse side effects. Provides verbal and written training and consultation services to individuals, groups, families, and organizations. Performs intake assessments, interviews patients, gathers psycho-social histories and completes documentation, i.e., SPMI criteria, initial treatment plans, releases of information, etc. Develops support groups for assigned areas of specialization; provides training, consultation, and related mental health specialty services; develops and designs group curriculum; conducts psycho-educational training; teaches social and life skills; provides stress management coaching; develops client networks and transition groups; determines justification for services in consultation with multidisciplinary treatment teams including parole officers, attorneys, and other positions within the criminal justice system. May act as a subject matter expert in giving testimony in court hearings and investigations. This position requires the applicant to commute to and perform services at both the Utah County Jail, located in Spanish Fork, Utah, and the Food and Care Coalition, located in Provo, Utah. Both locations are in Utah County. The applicant will spend several days a week at each location, and work one weekend a month, either on Saturday or Sunday.

Requirements:
Master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, clinical mental health counseling, or a related degree. Foreign equivalent degree accepted. As provided by the state of Utah’s licensing regulations, must obtain licensure in the state of Utah in one of the following: Certified Social Worker (CSW), Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor (ACMHC), or Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT). Demonstrable ability to work with clients experiencing acute crisis situations. Demonstrable ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with multidisciplinary treatment teams, parole officers, attorneys, administrators, and the public. Demonstrable ability to work with the population within the criminal justice system. Demonstrable knowledge of therapy, diagnostic classifications, and mental health treatment concepts. Demonstrable knowledge of substance use and dynamics of abuse; crisis intervention and suicide assessment methods. Demonstrable knowledge of how to complete intake assessments, interview patients, and gather psycho-social histories. Must be willing to commute to and work at the Utah County Jail (located in Spanish Fork, Utah) and the Food and Care Coalition (located in Provo, Utah), which are both in Utah County. Must be willing to work with those experiencing serious and persistent mental illness, as well as people experiencing homelessness, incarcerated individuals, and recently released incarcerated individuals seeking outpatient services. Must have reliable transportation in order to travel to and from the Utah County Jail and Food and Care Coalition. Mileage will be reimbursed. Must be willing to work one weekend a month on either Saturday or Sunday. Must have passed a criminal background investigation, including a polygraph examination.

SCHEDULE & RATE OF PAY: Compensation - $61,360.00. (The employer will pay or exceed the prevailing wage, as determined by the U.S. Department of Labor.)
